Congratulations to Dr. Kari Harland, winner of the 2025 Iowa Medical Society's John F. Sanford award! This award goes to a researcher, advocate, or non-physician specialist for contributions to public health. Dr. Harland was recognized AND got to give a speech at the IMS dinner on 5/2 at Hancher (pic attached!). Specifically, her work on interpersonal violence, injury prevention, and COVID-19 effects on healthcare workers is what clinched this prestigious award. Congrats Kari!
